This tutorial gives an overview of Mechanisms of Localizaton of Radiopharmaceuticals. After completing this tutorial, attendees will be able to better understand how different radiopharmaceuticals work as imaging agents. 1. List and give examples of the eight classical mechanisms of localization of radiopharmaceuticals 2. Give examples of the mechanisms associated with the newer radiopharmaceuticals, e.g., metabolic trapping, receptor binding, and antigen-antibody reactions 3. State the uptake ratios and excretion rates, e.g., the percentage of each of the 5 renal imaging agents cleared by filtration and secretion as well as the amount bound to the tubules 4. Describe an antigen-antibody reaction and the part it plays in the uptake of radiolabeled monoclonal antibodies by specific types of malignant tumors 5. State legal particle size requirements for those preparations containing labeled particles and the optimal number of particles to be injected |

RECEIVING YOUR CE CREDIT:
If you have taken one of the tutorials, received a score of 80% or above, and wish to receive CE credit:
Make sure you submit all of the requested information when taking the test. It's not necessary to send us the score sheets since we receive them electronically when you submit your answers for scoring.
Within 24 hours of receipt of your submitted score sheets and payment for the tutorial(s), we will do all of the following:
1. Send a certificate to you via e-mail
2. Send a certificate to you via US Mail
3. Send an electronic copy of the certificate to the VOICE Coordinator of the SNM for tracking your CE Credit (even if you are not a VOICE Member).
